Julian Rosefeldt
Manifesto
2015
Single-channel version (color, sound)
130''
The marvelous Cate Blanchett. In Julian Rosefeldt’s monumental film installation Manifesto, the Oscar winning Australian actor appears in 13 different roles. Be it as a homeless woman, a eulogist, a punk or a choreographer, Blanchett speaks texts from artists’ 20th century manifestos. Rosefeldt assembled these quotations into a text collage and situated them in the present to demonstrate the persistent relevance of the heated protests. At the turn of the year, the Sammlung Goetz presents the film installation Manifesto as a single-channel version on its website from 31 December 2022 to 8 January 2023. A beacon burning bright for the freedom of art!
