This work consists of laurel leaves, which are piled up on the ground and have already been dried out. On the upper, wider side there is an oval, thick and slightly turquoise glass piece on top of it, which lets the leaves shine through.

Sammlung Goetz.Works ofArte Povera and Mike Kelley

This new presentation in Bremen presents works of Arte Povera and American artist Mike Kelley – two main areas of the Sammlung Goetz holdings – for an extended period of time.

In 1997, the Neues Museum Weserburg (today Weserburg Museum für moderne Kunst) held a major exhibition with important works of Arte Povera from Sammlung Goetz. This was the first time that works from this genre had ever been shown in Northern Germany. Thanks to this long-standing collaboration, a new opportunity allows parts of this collection to be rediscovered in other contexts.
