The participatory tour of a different kind – for children, teenagers and families!

Dolls are only for girls? Not true! The cooperation of the Sammlung Goetz in the Münchner Stadtmuseum shows in its new exhibition how diverse the themes of puppet theater, disguise, showmanship, and corporeality are implemented in contemporary art.

In our participatory tours, we want to experience the themes of "body" and "self-expression" in a playful and performative way in various stations. Masquerade, clowning and role models are some of the thematic focal points that can be creatively addressed directly in the exhibition with just a few materials.

The exhibition (Not) A Doll’s House. Traditional Roles and Brand-New Images offers many wonderful opportunities to let off steam creatively and learn something new. MACH MIT / JOIN IN and embark on a journey of discovery: Create unusual masks with wooden sticks, cardboard and feathers. Create silhouettes of characters you have made up or of yourself. Create little doll scenes in a dollhouse or shoebox you've drawn yourself. Or slip into different roles and stage yourself in front of the camera like the great artists. The hands-on tours and workshops offer many great opportunities to let off steam creatively and learn something new.

The hands-on/family tours are organized in cooperation with the Münchner Stadtmuseum, the art agency FILOMELE and the art educators Miriam Gniwotta and Elli Hurst.

Participation  

Free of charge plus admission (for families with children from 8 years / day ticket: 7 €, reduced 3,50 €, children under 18 years free)

Course of events          

Exhibition tour followed by a workshop in the studio (if there is good weather and warm temperatures, the creative part of the hands-on tour will take place in the courtyard of the Stadtmuseum)
